Living with muscular dystrophy
Muscular Dystrophy Canada provides information and support to people who have been diagnosed with a neuromuscular disorder as well as those people whose lives have been affected. This includes family members, caregivers, educators and employers.
Living with a neuromuscular disorder is not easy. Many challenges will have to be faced as the disorder progresses. Muscular Dystrophy Canada staff, volunteers and other resources are there to help people learn how to cope and manage living with a neuromuscular disorder.
It is our hope that this section of the Muscular Dystrophy Canada website will be a source of strength and encouragement, as people are provided with the tools they need to begin living with a neuromuscular disorder. The Guide to Neuromuscular Disorders will provide you with information on the coping and management process, and includes an overview of neuromuscular disorders, tips and tools, and where to go for additional help and support. Much of the following information is taken fully or in-part from Muscular Dystrophy Canada's Guide to Neuromuscular Disorders.
