Team Muscle Movers is celebrating its 10th anniversary participating in the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival in support of individuals and families affected by neuromuscular disorders.
For the past 9 years, the Simcoe Volunteer Chapter, led by Derek Gordon and Teresa Croft, has been paddling to raise both funds and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
They have raised an astounding $257,131 to date and need your support to fulfill their final, 10 year goal of reaching $275,000!
Donations made help over 90 individuals and their families living in the Simcoe Region.
A portion of all funds raised remain within Simcoe Region to help local Muscular Dystrophy Canada members with funding for assistive devices, such as the purchase of wheelchairs and their batteries, leg braces, orthotics and more.
Donations will also be used to support Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s programs in the areas of research, information, education, advocacy and support.
Team Muscle Movers has been awarded the Top Fundraising Team award by the Festival on numerous occasions, and in 2013 received the Charity Challenge Cup which is awarded to the team raising funds for a registered charity with the best race time of the day!
You can help Team Muscle Movers reach the Top Fundraising Team award yet again!
