“Fill the Boot” is a Fire Fighter fundraising event in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Local Fire Departments across Canada organize a Fill the Boot Campaign to raise awareness and funds for persons with neuromuscular disorders all across Canada.
The Fill the Boot Campaign is easy to implement and the quickest way to collect money in a short period of time (usually between 4-6 hours). You will be amazed at the results! Boot Drives can be held in high traffic areas (shopping malls, liquor stores, grocery stores, Walmart) or busy intersections within your community. Once you’ve received permission from your preferred location(s), schedule your Fire Fighters in 1-2 hour shifts, set up signs/banners (provided by Muscular Dystrophy Canada) and stand with your boots and collect money from the public – it’s that simple!
These Canadian Fire Fighters have played an integral role for Muscular Dystrophy Canada since 1954. Since that time, every year hundreds of Fire Departments organize a Fill the Boot Campaign in front of stores, in parking lots and on street corners; together raising almost $1.7 million annually with the support of their respective community.
