Volunteering for Muscular Dystrophy Canada

Muscular Dystrophy Canada is a volunteer-driven organization and relies on dedicated, enthusiastic, diverse and dynamic people to help us meet our mission. Volunteers are respected members of Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s human resources team and play a vital role in the delivery of our fundraising campaigns, programs and services.

People volunteer for a variety of reasons such as learning new skills, giving back to the community, or to make new friends.

It doesn't always take a big commitment to make a big difference.

Muscular Dystrophy Canada volunteers include:

Chapter members
Local Chapters are the grassroots of our organization. Voluntary membership in a Chapter may include persons with a neuromuscular disorder, friends and family members, community-minded citizens, and Fire Fighters. To find out more about Chapters, click here.

Office Volunteers
Do you enjoy administrative activities such as data entry, filing, packaging campaign materials, telemarketing, and preparing mailings to stakeholders? Our national and regional offices have a wide variety of programs and services that could benefit from your volunteer involvement. Contact your local Regional office to find out more.

Event Volunteers
Events - such as Walk for Muscular Dystrophy and golf tournaments - are organized by our Chapters, Fire Fighter friends and third-party organizations. If you would like to lend your time and talents to help make these events, contact your local Regional office.

National Board and Committee Members
We are always seeking volunteers in a number of skill areas to support the work of our organization at the strategic level. If you have expertise in legal; accounting; financial planning; marketing and communications; public relations and other strategic skills and wish to volunteer in these capacities, contact Catherine Sherrard, our National Executive Director, via e-mail by clicking here.
