We are here to help!

Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s longstanding equipment program has helped thousands of people with neuromuscular disorders obtain the equipment they need.

We help clients to obtain a wide range of assistive devices to aid with mobility, breathing, sitting and positioning, accessibility, communications, and sleeping.

Please contact our services staff to determine your eligibility. It is important to involve us early in the process. We will guide you through the application process and requirements. We will even suggest other potential funders, if necessary.

Program Criteria

To help us serve everyone’s needs as best as possible, the following criteria are applied to all applications:

  • Maximum per item: $3,000
  • Client minimum contribution: $200.00
  • Equipment costing less than $200 will not be eligible for funding
  • You must be a registered client of Muscular Dystrophy Canada

  • You must be a registered client of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
  • Muscular Dystrophy Canada will not issue reimbursements. Be sure to complete the application process and receive approval from our office, prior to purchasing the item.
  • Funding may also be available with the Safeway Mobility Grant

All funding requests must include:

  • A completed application form
  • Quotes from 2 different equipment vendors
  • A signed equipment prescription from the appropriate licensed health care professional such as: an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, respiratory therapist, orthotist, physiatrist or podiatrist
